We are here in Gilmer living it up in the Patterson addition. Actually not quite the Patterson addition. It's the Ford Addition if you want to get technical. But, for all you non-Gilmerites, this means nothing.
Moving on...the house is great. Kinda. Except for the nasty carpet, wall to wall to wall wallpaper, and way outdated lightfixtures, bath fixtures, appliances, and anything else you can think of, it's great!
All of our possesions are currently residing in the den. We are all sleeping on mattresses on the floor. It's kinda like camping out in a vacant house. And it's getting a little old. It would be nice to move everything into its proper place and actually have a living room area. But, it's not to be...yet. The carpet should be coming this week (crossing my fingers here).
The kitchen is coming along though. I have some pictures of it before Kim and I ripped it to shreds.
It was yellow with busy blue wallpaper. We ripped the paper down (all three layers) and got to the sheet rock. I removed all of the hardware from the cabinets and spray painted it copper. The doors and drawers were removed too, and painted white, along with the cabinets in the wall.
After the white paint, I went over them with a teastain glaze to give them an antiquey look.
More to come soon. We're getting internet on Wednesday so I'll be able to post more pictures then.
